NAESB Announcement of Timothy Alan Simon Esq. As Chair of the NAESB Advisory Council

TIMOTHY ALAN SIMON, ESQ., FORMER CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSIONER AND APPOINTMENTS SECRETARY FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ELECTED AS CHAIR OF THE NAESB ADVISORY COUNCIL 

On February 24, 2024, the NAESB Advisory Council elected interim Chair, Timothy Alan Simon, Esq., as the next Chair of the Council. Mr. Simon has served as a member of the Advisory Council since 2013 and as the Vice Chair of the group since July of last year. He is assuming the role following the passing of long-term Chair, Bruce Ellsworth, in the fall of last year. Michael Desselle, NAESB’s Chairman, stated “Tim’s ability to bring diverse people together to speak frankly about industry challenges makes him the ideal successor for our dear friend and industry luminary, Bruce Ellsworth, and we are extremely grateful that he has volunteered to serve in this leadership role.” 

Timothy Alan Simon, Esq. is the Principal and Founder of TAS Strategies, and like Mr. Ellsworth, he served as Chair of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Gas Committee, and Chair of the LNG Partnership between the Department of Energy and NARUC, among holding many other leadership positions within NARUC. In 2019, Mr. Simon was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the California African American Chamber of Commerce and was appointed to the University of San Francisco (USF) Board of Trustees. His current practice is focused on serving his clients on matters concerning utility, infrastructure, energy, broadband and financial services.
